How can you tell if your career path truly aligns with your purpose or if you’re just surviving day by day? In my recent chat with Shana Ackles, a full-time coach, consultant, and VP of Growthward Consulting, we discussed the importance of aligning your values and being intentional with your career.
Shana’s journey began in Alaska, where she built a successful real estate career during a booming market, closing 120 deals in her best year, primarily in new construction. However, the 2008 market crash marked a turning point for her. She realized that without effective systems, strategies, and alignment with her deeper purpose, rebuilding her career felt daunting and unappealing. This wake-up call prompted her to shift toward property management before eventually moving into leadership coaching.
Through her experiences, Shana discovered her superpower: building deep relationships and empowering others to grow alongside her. As she puts it, “Loving someone means I’m not afraid to tell them their business sucks—or that they’re amazing.”
